Partners and sponsorship

Reach students, researchers and lecturers at the moment they are working on a paper, in a place that is clearly marked as paid and can never be mistaken for our own judgement.

Where a placement can appear

Beside a guideA card in the column next to one of our guides, on the site.
Chosen by subject, so a nursing programme appears beside nursing guides and a publisher beside the subject it publishes in. It is a card, not a banner: a heading, two lines and a button.
The Library’s top shelfThe first row of the Library, where students look for the books on their reading list.
For publishers and authors of textbooks and scholarly books. The book is shown as any other is, with its own details, and marked as a paid placement.
A card in the dashboardOne card, off the main path, for a signed-in student.
For universities and colleges advertising a programme, and for tools that help with something we do not do. Never on top of a student’s work, and never more than one at a time.

The rules we sell under

Every paid placement says it is paidThe word “Sponsored” and the advertiser’s name sit above the card, before anything else on it, and the link is marked as paid. A reader never has to wonder whether we were paid.
Nothing is for sale inside a resultSearch results, citations, reference checks and the verdicts our tools give cannot be bought, influenced or reordered by any amount of money. That is the whole product.
Placement is by page, not by personA card is chosen by the subject of the page it sits on. No advertiser is given a student’s name, email, work, searches or reading, and nothing about a reader is used to choose what they see.
Who we will not take money fromAnyone who writes or rewrites a student’s work, anyone selling a way past a detector, and anyone whose product competes with one of ours. We would rather keep the trust of the universities we licence to.
One at a time, and datedA page carries at most one paid card. Every placement has a start and an end date and stops by itself.

Who this is for

Universities and collegesProgrammes, open days, postgraduate study and scholarships, shown to students in the subject you recruit from.
Publishers and authorsTextbooks and scholarly books, on the shelf where students go looking for the ones their reading list names.
Tools that are not oursAnything that helps a student with something we do not do: note-taking, transcription, data analysis, accessibility, language support.

Tell us what you want to reach

We will send you the current figures for the pages you are interested in, what a placement costs and when the next one is free. EdCitation is new, so we send real numbers rather than a range.

Our address for this goes here as soon as it is set up.

Licensing EdCitation for a whole programme or library is a different thing, and usually the better one: see the Institution licence.
